Aloha Yokohama – Day #2

Aloha, everyone! It’s our second day here in lovely Minato Mirai and I decided to skip my morning jog because I’m feeling a little jet lagged. Our first performance yesterday was at the Landmark Tower stage, and even though it was indoors with air conditioning, it was HOT! They’ve added stage lights this year and I was sweating so much that I thought I was going to drown! Anyway, it was like homecoming yesterday .. so many of our friends and fans came out to support us! Mahalo to all of you for the wonderful omiyage and for all of your aloha! You guys are truly like family to me & my boys!

We ate a buffet lunch yesterday at an Indian restaurant … it was ok and only cost a thousand yen (about $11). So not only did we sweat our butts off on stage, but we also sweat eating lamb, chicken, and lentil curries! Stoooopid!! After our performance last night, we all went over to a Korean teppanyaki place here in the hotel. Our manager, Ann, Sam, Takuya, Aureana, Lea, and our good friend, Yutaka, all joined us and we had a great time talking story and enjoying many nama beeru! I hadn’t seen Yutaka since he moved back to Japan several months ago … I think he’s put on a few pounds!

We have a busy day today – two performances at Ohsambashi pier and one at Yamashita Park with kumu hula Sandii. And I heard that the temperature is going up today & tomorrow .. oh, great! Oh well … here we go again!

Aloha, “D”
