Manoa DNA Live! This Week

February 25th, 2010

We have two performances being broadcast live over the internet this week…

Pakele Live! (http://www.pakelelive.com/) is a weekly internet broadcast show featuring music, culture and activities from around Hawai’i. Broadcasting directly from the Pakele Lounge in the Ala Moana Hotel, Pakele Live! features something new every week. Tonight, Thursday February 25th, Manoa DNA will be performing live for the KoAloha Ukulele night. With music featuring Herb Ohta Jr., PALI, Alvin Okami, and more, it is sure to be a fun night filled with music and story. If you would like to tune in, head over to their website (http://www.pakelelive.com/), and tune in starting at 18:00 HST.

Then, for a second consecutive day, Manoa DNA will be broadcast live over the internet via our own live monthly show, Manoa DNA Live!. Featuring Lulus Restaurant in beautiful Waikiki, you can tune in directly over this website and check out Manoa DNA’s monthly show! You never know who is going to show up, or what is going to happen! Friday February 26th, from 18:00HST to 21:00HST (6-9pm), you can tune in directly by visiting our Manoa DNA Live! page: http://www.manoadna.com/manoa-dna-live/

See you online!

Aerosmith In The House!

October 19th, 2009

IMG_0280 This was an AWESOME concert, and I still can’t believe I saw Aerosmith in concert! Aerosmith! AEROSMITH!! It was great, as you can see, Steve Tyler was on fire and a show in himself! Along with Joe Perry on the shredding guitar, it was a show I will never forget. Minus the drama that actually preceded the concert itself (as discussed in my previous vlog: http://DNANe.ws/e), it was well worth the cost (and ear damage) to see it all live. I knew it was gonna be great when they opened with my favorite song, “Eat the Rich.”

Well done Aerosmith, thank you for honoring your commitment to Hawai’i, and I’m forever grateful I got to see my favorite band of all time before they retired!

“Happy Halloween!” – October 2009

October 1st, 2009

October Frontpage ImageHappy Halloween everyone! As we prepare for the holiday season, Manoa DNA will be going into semi-hiding and preparing their new album! October will be a pretty mellow Manoa DNA month, with only Lulus and Kani Ka Pila on the bill, but with one more trip to Japan scheduled in the beginning of November and going into the studio, rest assured we will be working on some new, fun stuff!

If you haven’t heard already, we have been broadcasting our live events using ustream.tv! This is really fun and exciting for us because it allows us to connect directly with those fans who cannot be at our show in person. We have met a lot of people around the world who watch us and continue to support us from afar. Thank you to all who have made Manoa DNA Live! a success, and we look forward to broadcasting more in the future!

2nd, 16th, 23rd & 30th: Lulus Waikiki Live! Continuing the live broadcasts direct from Lulus, Manoa DNA continues their weekly haunt at Lulus. Come down and see them live, or watch them online at Manoa DNA Live!

3rd & 17th: Kani Ka Pila @ The Outrigger Reef Come down and see Manoa DNA under the stars in Waikiki. This outdoor venue is a perfect setting to listen to Manoa DNA! Live broadcasts will be unavailable at Kani Ka Pila due to bandwidth restrictions by the Outrigger Reef hotel.

Crazy Week

June 12th, 2009

Add two parts rehearsal, one part Na Hoku award show, and one part sleepless nights, and you get a Nick cocktail!

What a fun and exciting week we had as we geared up for our performance on the Na Hoku Hanohano award show. If you didn’t see it, you can watch it via our homepage (sorry for the ads). Hopefully I can get it onto our youtube channel soon so there won’t be any commercials (that we don’t endorse).

Anyway, I have updated the schedule through August. It is gonna be a pretty busy one with our July trip up to Japan looking beefier and beefier everyday. I will keep you posted as to where and when you can find us, but otherwise, check back here often!

I’m gonna go take a nap.
