Today we are playing at Phoenix hall and then we head to Fukuoka for a couple of nights before heading home. I love Hiroshima because it’s where our family is from! The dinner party last night was great too! Everyone was very supportive and made us feel at home last night and we thank everyone for that.

Well, see you all today or tomorrow hopefully! My brain isn’t working now because I’m so tired so this blog might not make any sense haha.
Aloha!

Good morning, everyone, and “Happy Aloha Friday!” to you all! April is flying by so quickly … half of 2011 is almost over and it seems like we just got finished celebrating the New Year! Doesn’t it seem like the world is in fast forward .. like things are coming at us so fast that it’s hard to keep up? What is going on??!!

The boys & I are getting ready to go up to Japan within the next couple of weeks for Golden Week. Nick & I will first be heading up to the Sendai and Miyagi areas to visit the evacuation shelters where we’ll do our best to bring as much of the aloha spirit as possible to the people up there. Upon our return to Tokyo, we’ll join up with Alex and Mark who are flying in after Alex finishes his UH classes to continue our Golden Week tour with HTJ in Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. Of course there’s still concern about the ongoing nuclear crisis and aftershocks, but l need to block all of that from my mind and focus on the task at hand.

And speaking of focus, my golf game SUCKS! I don’t know what happened … one moment I’m shooting par golf, the next, I’m getting double and triple bogeys! The golf gods are messing with me again … bastards!

We’re back at Lulu’s tonight and Kani Ka Pila tomorrow, and then we’re off for the next few weekends while we’re in Japan. Be sure to check our manoadna.com website for our schedules, blogs, and updates!

Aloha, “D”

ManoaDNA has one more benefit performance before it heads up to Japan for Golden Week. Nick and I will be going up a couple of days earlier to join some of the Hawai’i Tourism Japan staff who are going up to Sendai and Miyagi prefecture to bring supplies to the evacuation shelters there. Although we’re a little apprehensive about all the aftershocks and the nuclear crisis that’s going on up there, we are looking forward to going and consider it a privilege to be able to go and help bring some aloha and smiles to those people who are facing so much hardship. Unfortunately, Alex will be unable to join us since he has to finish up his classes at UH, but will meet us in Tokyo along with our bass player, Mark, after we return from Sendai. ManoaDNA’s 2011 Golden Week tour with HTJ starts on Friday, 4/29, at Ikspiari Live, followed by performances in Odaiba, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. For more details as they develop, please check our manoadna.com website … mahalo!

Aloha, “D”

I can’t believe how quickly this week is going by! It’s already Thursday and also the last day of March – man, this month went by fast! I’m also looking forward to joining my buddies for our weekly round of golf at WCC since I haven’t been able to play the last couple of weeks because of meetings and stuff. I can’t wait to get out there and start whacking that little white ball around! But first, I have to finish up some work at IOLANI, attend a meeting, and then get my hair cut before I can leave for the afternoon. The good thing is that even though my game might suck today, at least I’ll have nice hair! hahaha!

I picked up some dinner at the original Side Street Inn last night … grilled rib-eye steak w/ mushrooms & onions, and bacon-wrapped prawns. Along with some fried rice, this was a meal for the gods! Of course I always end up eating way too much but hey, I’m a local boy … ‘love my grinds!

We’re getting ready to go up to Japan at the end of April for Golden Week, and it now looks like we’ll be performing in Tokyo, Osaka, and Hiroshima. Since we will be representing Hawai’i Tourism Japan on this trip, we will only have one MDNA solo live concert which will be at Club Ikspiari on April 29th. I’m really looking forward to seeing all of you, and hope that our music will bring smiles to people’s faces during these very difficult times.

Please take care and be safe, my friends!

Much aloha, “D”

Hi all, one week to go before we head back to the motherland for a short tour with the city of Honolulu. Hope to see all of you natives up there as we will have an extended concert celebrating the sister city relationship between Honolulu and Hiroshima!

Last weekend was bad because the Hawai’i Warrior football team lost an embarrassing game to nationally-ranked Boise St. There is little to say about the loss, and I think I am so devastated that I don’t wanna be seen on camera in a vlog right now.

So, as I lick my wounds and heal up, I will hopefully have something for you guys later this week. Stay tuned!
