Alx Blog – Going Beyond the Reef…Nervous…

I guess the only way I’ll get better at writing and producing is to go to the city where entertainers make their living creating music and other arts. I’m leaving for LA in the early morning tomorrow to start an exciting journey. I’ll be working with producer Ken Caillat who created the Fleetwood Mac album “Rumours” (over 30 million sold) and also the Grammy award winning album his daughter Colbie recorded some years ago. I’ll be writing with songwriters he knows and we’ll be recording these new songs too.

This opportunity is huge for me and huge for ManoaDNA because it’s a way to make connections and have people listen to what we do. I’m the only one that will be going up on this trip so I plan to make the best of it and not hold back. Hoping big things come from this but I’m very nervous.

I’ll be posting updates all week and I’ll try to be as honest and open as possible about what I feel. I want to get schooled and kicked in the head so it lets me get up and try again and keep honing my craft.
