Vog … arggghhh!!

This frickin’ vog is driving my sinuses crazy … I’m even starting to get a slight headache from the stuff!  They said that the tradewinds won’t return until later this week so we’ll have to endure the vog for a few more days … damn!  Guess I’ll have to try and stay indoors as much as possible.  The good news is that we seem to have gotten our fly problem under control!  I must’ve killed about 50 of those little suckers in the last two days … still can’t figure out where they’re coming from.  It was getting pretty messy until the girls figured out that the vacuum cleaner makes a good bug catcher … sucked those critters right up neat and quick!

I went to the Halekulani last night for a Kenzo Estate winery event which my friend, Wayne Miyao, helped organize.  Owners Kenzo and his wife Natsuko were there along with some of the winery execs.  I had met the Tsujimotos about a year ago at a dinner and had taken them to play golf while they were here in Hawaii.  Kenzo is the founder and chairman of CAPCOM, the huge global video game company, and he and Natsuko visit Hawaii quite frequently.  Their wines are awesome and not sold in any retail store … most of the product is served in Japan’s finer restaurants while the rest can be found in a few select gourmet restaurants in Napa, San Francisco, LA, New York, and Hawai’i.  The boys & I will be going to Napa next month so we definitely plan on making Kenzo Estates one of our stops!

And the craziness continues … I have an early morning meeting today, then meet the boys at the FM105 KINE studios to record a 2-hour radio show, then it’s off to the BP recording studio to do some background vocals for our good friend, and then it’s back to ‘IOLANI for a final meeting.  And this is one of my slower days this month …

Aloha, “D”
