Happy May Day!

Aloha, friends!

It’s May 1st, which also happens to be “Lei Day” in Hawai’i!  It’s the day of the lei, and I’m sure lots of people will be exchanging these fragrant expressions of love & aloha with many of their friends and loved ones today.  May is one of my favorite months because it’s Spring and there’s always lots of activity going on both musically and otherwise.  This week is also the Golden Week holiday in Japan which means we’ll be seeing a lot of our Japanese friends in town this week.  We’re usually over there during this time representing Hawai’i Tourism Japan, but that phase in our life is over as we now move on to the next stage in our exciting musical journey!  Here we go again …

Speaking of May, ManoaDNA will be heading to Hiroshima later this month to participate in the 15th Anniversary of the Hawai’i – Hiroshima Sister-State relationship.  We’ll be performing at two events – a gala reception and a Hiroshima Carps baseball game – after which we depart for Yokohama to do a live performance at Thumbs Up before heading back home.  But don’t worry if you miss us this time around … we’re planning to be back later this year!  This week, ManoaDNA will be without the “N”, Nick, since he’ll be on the mainland attending a friend’s wedding in Florida.  The “D” & the “A” will still be performing, though … at the Hyatt’s SWIM on Wednesday, and at Kani Ka Pila Grille on Saturday.  AK & the Lefties will be at Lulu’s on Friday (Alex, Mark, & Seann) so be sure to check ’em out … you will NOT be disappointed!

I hope you all have a wonderful May Day!

Aloha, “D”
