I’m back (I think!)

Aloha, everyone!

I took the weekend off … hope you didn’t mind!  After we got back from Fukuoka last Thursday morning, I actually ended up joining my Thursday degenerates on the back nine for a few holes.  Boy, was that a mistake!  I was so out of it that I couldn’t swing the golf club to save my life!  Everything was so surreal … it was like I was there but not really (huh??).  In any case, it was a mess and that’s it.  On Friday, ManoaDNA performed at Lulu’s even though we were all a little jet lagged from our trip.  The evening went pretty well thanks to some local folks who braved the Waikiki traffic and parking to come and see us.  Mahalo to Scott, Denise, Pat, Wendy, Craig, Michelle, Lyle, and Kristie (hope I got all the names right!) for being there and making it a fun night!  I also want to thank Yumi and Aunty Pat for their awesome hula …

On Saturday, I joined my fellow degenerates out at the Turtle Bay golf links (Palmer course) for a two-day “prayer vigil”, aka, “old farts party” … and boy, did we have a blast!  I will spare you the gory details but let me just say that “beverages” were consumed in large quantities and loud profanities filled the air!  Nuff said …

Oh yeah … just found out that our live stage at Thumbs Up in Yokohama on 6/2 is already sold out … which is pretty incredible because the tickets just went on sale Saturday!  My sincere apologies to our many fans who were unable to get tickets to this show, but I was just informed that some people are trying to organize a ManoaDNA “Meet & Greet” event on Sunday afternoon, 6/3, where fans can come and “talk story” with us and enjoy an afternoon of fun & surprises.  Hmmmm … sounds like fun!  There should be more details available within the next couple of weeks so be sure to check our website and blogs!

And finally … I want to wish my mom a very happy 90th birthday today!  Way to go, Grandma!!!

Aloha, “D”
