Good morning everyone! It’s the day after our return to Hawai’i and as expected, I’m fighting jet lag! I also seem to have come down with a slight cold or sinus infection so I’m going to lay low the next few days. I think we go into the recording studio later this week so I have to make sure I still have a voice! Homecoming was great .. the puppies were so happy to see us and Linda had bought a bunch of great stuff for us to eat!
More thoughts on our trip to Hiroshima & Tokyo … we ate some great okonomiyaki at this little restaurant near our hotel – it was so good that we ate there two nights straight! We would have eaten their the 3rd night except we had to leave for Tokyo that evening! I was never a real fan of okonomiyaki before, but this place was the bomb! If I can remember what the name of the little restaurant was, I’ll let you guys know … we saw the unveiling of Hiroshima’s holiday city lights which were on display throughout the city – totally awesome – sort of reminded me of Disneyland …. the boys found bottles of azuki-flavored Pepsi and our bass player, Mark, brought home a couple of bottles (I hope they didn’t explode in his suitcase!). Our previous trip in July turned up bottles of chiso (plum leaf) -flavored Pepsi! Hmmm – interesting combinations … don’t go singing karaoke in the Ginza unless you’re prepared to deal with a terrible hangover the next day! Also make sure it’s not on the same night as your manager’s wedding anniversary (sorry, Ann!)!
That’s it for now …
Aloha, “D”
